Students in online doctoral programs can complete their degree requirements in their own homes, and at times that are convenient for their schedules. There are some disadvantages to completing doctoral programs online. One is that you lose out on the benefit of being able to interact with fellow students. If your research is progressing slowly, or you run into a pitfall, on-site programs would give you the option of discussing your problems with classmates and coming up with solutions together. You lose out on the benefit of personal contact when you enroll in an online doctoral program.
